Kansas Department of Commerce to host Military Veterans Career Fairs
- Pittsburg: Memorial Auditorium, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- Hays: American Legion Post 173, 4 - 7 p.m.
- Overland Park: American Legion, Dwight Cowles Post 370, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
- Topeka: VA Medical Center, Recreation Hall Building 24, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- Wichita: Century II Exhibition Hall, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
The events are free to all military veterans and their families.
"America’s men and women in uniform have put the nation’s well-being before their own to defend liberty throughout the world,” said Commerce Secretary David Kerr. “While we can never fully repay the debt we owe our veterans, the Department of Commerce continues to express its gratitude through a variety of services designed to help our military heroes pursue a rewarding career here at home. I invite all Kansas vets and their families to this great event so they can learn about job opportunities available to them.
The Kansas Department of Commerce offers employment and training services to eligible veterans through its statewide system of KANSASWORKS workforce centers. Veterans services available at these workforce centers include:
- labor market information
- certification
- career planning
- resume-writing assistance
- employer contacts
